Here’s How EdTech Providers Can Use AI To Improve Student Experience

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Even as schools reopen post the pandemic, EdTech continues to play a crucial part in the way education is imparted. EdTech providers that have leveraged AI are able to secure an edge over traditional education systems – where the ratio of students to teachers is typically 30:1. In fact, adaptive learning platforms are able to create truly personalized learning paths for students. This enables them to study in a style and at a pace that suits them.

Here are the different ways EdTech providers can use AI to improve the student experience:

Personalized Learning Environments

Educators can leverage AI to obtain comprehensive analytics that can inform them on everything from student learning to retention. By applying AI to their EdTech platform, educators curate truly personalized education paths. They can collect information on all aspects of their students’ learning paths. Whether it is the engagement, or their interaction with course content, or even test performances. And using these insights, AI can provide a learning experience that is tailored to every student’s knowledge level and preferred learning style.

A Proactive Approach

EdTech providers can leverage AI to proactively work on courses that usually have typically high attrition rates. With AI and ML-based adaptive learning paths, educators can identify drop-off points or points where students have trouble. Curriculum-heavy STEM classes generally have many students enrolled. This makes it challenging for teachers to provide individualized support. However, AI-based personalization will provide these insights to the educators, so they can modify course content at points where students are dropping off. Or, they can create additional content that is more instructive. Proactive approaches such as these result in fewer drop-offs and improve engagement among students, encouraging them to learn in the manner that suits them best.

Provide Immediate Feedback

With AI, students no longer have to wait to receive feedback on their work. Unlike traditional learning spaces where they have to wait for their educators to oversee their work, AI can provide basic feedback immediately. This enables students to course correct while informing concerned educators about the areas where they need improvement. With NLP and Computer Vision, AI can also provide instant feedback on homework assignments as well as help with real-time doubt solving. Thereby, reducing workload for educators while improving engagement among students.

Without a doubt, AI and analytics will be a permanent part of the classroom of the future. They will be crucial in aiding educators as well students achieve greater heights in their fields of knowledge. AI is necessary to facilitate personalized learning without having to put additional pressure on educators. Thus, freeing precious time for both educators and students to focus on what really matters: learning.
